Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development projects worth nearly ₹13,000 crore in Bihar, marking a major boost to the state’s infrastructure, connectivity, and healthcare.

Ahead of the inauguration, the Prime Minister held a roadshow in Gaya, accompanied by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha.

Among the key announcements, PM Modi flagged off two new trains: the Amrit Bharat Express between Gaya and Delhi, and the Buddhist Circuit Train between Vaishali and Koderma, aimed at improving passenger convenience and promoting tourism.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Aunta-Simaria six-lane bridge over the Ganga on NH-31, a ₹1,870 crore project expected to transform connectivity between Patna’s Mokama and Begusarai. Built parallel to the old Rajendra Setu, the bridge will cut heavy vehicle detours of over 100 km, easing congestion and boosting regional trade.

In the road sector, PM Modi opened the four-lane Bakhtiyarpur–Mokama stretch of NH-31 (₹1,900 crore) and launched upgrades for the Bikramganj–Dumraon NH-120 section, improving connectivity in rural Bihar.

The event also saw the inauguration of the Buxar Thermal Power Plant (₹6,880 crore), which will enhance the state’s electricity supply, and the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Muzaffarpur, offering advanced oncology facilities.

Under Namami Gange, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Munger STP and Sewerage Network (₹520 crore), while foundation stones were laid for water supply and sanitation projects worth ₹1,260 crore across several districts, improving health standards and quality of life.

PM Modi emphasized that these projects will strengthen Bihar’s infrastructure, create economic opportunities, and bring quality healthcare and clean water closer to the people.
